Canoeing info needed

We are planning a canoe trip for late August. We are comtemplating a few different rivers and areas and could use some advice.

The King's River is my top choice. North Fork river and white river are also in the running. We're driving from Kansas City, Mo. and would prefer not to drive more than about 4 hrs.

We'd like to find a river that will be deep enough to not have to drag the canoe, fast enough to be exciting with pristine water, caves and waterfalls.

Any insight would be very helpful.
